Practitioners of Thai massage actually combine yoga-stretches, muscle massage, stimulation of the meridians using accupressure and manipulation of body joints. Some techniques require therapists to use their feet, elbows, and knees in addition to their hands. Practitioners can take anyone through their full range of motion, from those who are not very limber to those who are professional athletes. All of the deep massaging and stretching is used to stimulate the 10 major "sen" lines of the body. Practitioners learn how to customize their work with the appropriate massage approach, recommended yoga asanas, breathing techniques, and diet and lifestyle tips. More than 50 illustrated, full-body Thai Yoga Massage postures are presented as well as a massage flow for each body type.

Practitioners start at the feet and moves toward the receiver's head, making the body feel loosened and stretched. A massage can last between two and three hours. Practitioners also position the body into yoga-like poses and gently rock the body to open the joints and facilitate limbering.
