Maasai Mara is a game reserve as opposed to being a national park. This means the local county in conjunction with the Kenya wildlife society operates the reserve. These include crowned cranes, ostriches, vultures, and long-crested eagles. Bird species include eagles, vultures, marabou, ostrich, touracos, guinea fowls, bastards, cranes, and many more.
