Dieting is often about being in control, or being controlled (and sometimes about both at the same time). People talk about the increasing complexity of modern life. Dieting is the major cause of obesity in this country as well as a major threat to our physical and mental well-being. Write to magazines, newspapers, and TV stations protesting diet articles and programs. Dieting is the complete antithesis of that. It is all about your brain or an external authority figure dictating what and when you will eat.

Dieting is well past being a Fad. Dieting is a multi-billion dollar industry and everyone just wants to CASH IN. Dieting is the same thing.
Dieting is a harsh term to use though and it should be part of the whole ethos around eating with the family joining in . Lifestyle changes rather than diets and should include turning of electricals and going to the park .
Following a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you will never be able to enjoy your favorite foods again. If you adopt an attitude of deprivation, it is unlikely that you will stick to your diet. Following a diet and dieting are challenging tasks, especially if done without consulting a professional who can guide you in doing it correctly. Diets will work when using methods that suit your body type and allows some freedom rather than cutting out large amounts of food altogether.

Exercise alone cannot help you to lose weight. It should be accompanied by dieting as explained above. Exercise regularly and check your weight at least once per week to make sure that your weight does not creep back up. It is easier to eat moderately to keep from gaining weight than it is to lose weight after you have gained it. Exercise builds muscle and therefore increases metabolism.
Weight loss is really hard to achieve by yourself. It takes encouragement, support, and a community of like-minded folks who are determined to make a difference. Weight is gained by eating more food (or energy) than is burned off in everyday activities. Excess energy is mainly stored in the body as fat. Weight loss should instead be considered a slow and steady process that involves a healthy balanced diet and regular physical exercise. The body's metabolism has been shown to work at its most efficient when breakfast is eaten and small meals and snacks are consumed every few hours throughout the day.
