Individuals are more willing to take responsibility for their health through preventative and holistic approaches. Holistic health is defined as the unlimited and unimpeded free flow of life force energy through body, mind, and spirit. How Anorexia can affect your life. (21 Aug 2009)
Anorexia nervosa, or simply anorexia, is a psychiatric and physical illness in which the sufferer basically starves herself. Clinically, a person is anorexic if she has 85 percent or less of the normal body weight for someone of her age and height, yet continues to fast or diet. Anorexia and Bulimia are equal opportunity eating disorders. There is no certain race, gender, sexual or religious background in which these eating disorders are more predominant. Anorexia nervosa is the most fatal of all psychiatric illnesses, and over 90 per cent of eating disorder victims are young women. While anorexia is often portrayed in the media as a phase that some young girls obsessed by their appearance go through, the realities of the illness prove that nothing could be further from the truth.

Migraine patients often notice that their headaches begin with a throbbing sensation followed by increased skin sensitivity. This increased skin sensitivity, called allodynia, may take the form of scalp tenderness, "painful" hair or pain associated with hair brushing or wearing earrings or glasses. Migraine sufferers, like Jonathan, often must stay in bed for the duration of the headache. Exercising can help elevate your mood and improve your physical health. But having a poor self-image can also lead to eating disorders, and consequently malnutrition and depression. Exercise is another important way to insure that the body remains in a more alkaline state. Balanced workouts that do not over-tax the muscles (which can cause an abundance of lactic acid) are advised as they help to pump oxygen to the cells, dissipating acid content.
