The key feature distinguishing this condition from migraine is that cluster headache has a briefer duration, usually 30 minutes to three hours. Cluster headache usually does not run in families. Cluster headaches are a fairly common form of chronic , repeated headaches. They are more common in men than women. Cluster headaches affect mostly men. They typically begin between the ages of 20 and 40. Cluster headaches consist of attacks of severe one-sided pain in the head. It is sometimes called migranous neuralgia. Cluster headaches affect about a million people in the United States, and are much more common among men. The pain typically centers around one eye and often causes a runny nose and facial flushing on the affected side. Cluster headaches usually happen at the same time of day each time you get them. But they can happen at any time.
