Child obesity is a hereditary problem. If the parents are over weight, there is a high probability that their children would also be overweight. Child obesity has introduced children to diseases they were never exposed to before. They were once called adult and child diabetes. Child obesity is a complex public health issue that is a growing threat to childrens health, as well as a current and future drain on National Health Service (NHS) resources. The United Kingdom has seen an unprecedented rise in obesity, but this is not a problem unique to Britain. Child obesity is at an all-time high in the world today. There are many factors that play a part in this health problem, including genetics. Exercise however is probably the best pill ever invented. It makes us happier and improves our overall health and well-being.". Exercise is also extremely important. Overweight and obese children will need at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, and major studies have shown that 60 minutes a day is actually best. Overweight and obesity is a serious, chronic medical condition, which is associated with a wide range of debilitating and life threatening conditions. Large increases in obesity rates among Australians have the potential to erode many recent health gains. Overweight children tend to have more anxiety and poorer social skills than normal weight children. At one extreme, these problems may lead to acting out and disrupting the classroom. Overweight children may feel uncomfortable about exercising. Since physical activity is so important in an obesity treatment regime, help children find activities that won't embarrass them, aren't too difficult and that they will enjoy. Overweight or obese children are also more likely to be overweight or obese adults. More than half - 57 per cent - of all adults in Wales are already overweight or obese. Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions with approximately 22 million children under five years of age worldwide being overweight. Obesity is a global problem and contributes to 40 different health illnesses. Childhood eating habits must be changed, and teen diets adjusted to accommodate their specific nutritional needs. Healthy eating habits start when you're a child, so lets not force our children to eat when they say that they're full. Child obesity is a growing problem that must be addressed by parents or the problem will continue to spiral out of control. Health problems have developed and worsened as a result, leading to the question if television has caused or contributed to child obesity. Healthy people will maintain a balance between nutrition and cellular burning of fuel. When there is a healthy balance in this basic metabolism, you become overweight.
